Tip #18: Get Inpsired with Yingle Yangle Prompts
Writer Paulo Campos is the founder of Yingle Yangle, a blog that offers writers daily inspiration in the form of photo prompts. I found Paulo (and his blog) through The Write-Brained Network, and immediately added his blog to my must-reads list.
The best part about the Yingle Yangle prompts is that not only does Paulo offer inspiration, but he also shares his own response. He takes the scary first step of putting his work out there, so that you don’t have to.
Here’s a snippet of Paulo’s work from a recent prompt:
The middle few stars remain still while the others zoom, zoom. Zoom! They move a bit, but so slowly you need to lean in, squinting. The nature of movement: everything’s moving all the time. Even the monks so still and The Pieta. Imperceptibly moving, but up to it nonetheless.
Paulo uses Flickr photos for inspiration. What inspires you to write?

Another great blog suggestion! Thanks.
Like Paulo, I often use Flickr photos for inspiration. I also like to turn to the news and National Geographic for weird/interesting stories and photos.

National Geographic is a great idea, Megs! I hadn’t thought of that. Thanks for the tip!
