Tip #10: Read the WOW! Women on Writing eZine
Since I launched my freelance writing career, I have been pinching pennies. Although I would love to subscribe to our industry’s most popular publications–Writer’s Digest Magazine, The Writer Magazine and Poets & Writers Magazine, to name a few–I’m still in a place where I can’t rationalize spending the money to subscribe.
That’s part of why I was so delighted to discover the WOW! Women on Writing eZine.
WOW is 100% free and is packed with quality articles and interviews. Whether you’re looking for tips on how to launch your freelance writing career, trying to polish your social media skills, or are getting ready to leap into writing ficiton, WOW! has the article for you.
Here are a few of my favorites:
- Time to Twitter: Using Social Media to Further Your Career, by Kathi K. Browne
- How to Make Dialogue Tags Work for Your Story, by Margo L. Dill
- How to Plan a Writing Conference, by Margo L. Dill
- How to Use Technology References in YA Fiction, by BJ Marshall
- Blog Analytics 101, by Anne-Marie Nichols
Here are the two articles I’ve written for WOW (I couldn’t not link to them!):
- Blogs, Twitter, Websites and More: Connecting with Young Readers Through Social Media
- Take a Break for Creativity
The eZine is just a taste of what the WOW! community has to offer. There are also quarterly short story contests, affordable online classes and Premium Green Markets–WOW!’s subscription-only market book and community. Click here to start exploring!
